The flat rectangular piece of land that makes up Far Port is one of the least natural looking spheres in the realm. The plane sits in the lower center of the sphere making up a large portion of it. A small sun rolls around Far Port on the inner surface of the Sphere. Mages that have studied it have determined that it, and possibly most of Far Port itself were created by intelligent beings, as appose to just naturally occurring. The Minovians also have stories of the sphere having only a random cloud of rocks and no sun before ancient peoples created the sphere to be a port.
In ancient times, Far Port was an important hub between Alikarn and the Known Realm populated by a group of humans called the Kilarri that made it the gateway to the Realm. Obviously the Kilarri must have come from some other place, but once they settled on Far Port they made it their home. For centuries before the War of the Known Realm they stayed on Far Port, preferring to trade and assist all the different races that came to the sphere instead of exploring space themselves. They were very aware of other spheres and used that knowledge for their trading; they just never ventured into space themselves. When the Outsiders attacked, they leveled the entire side of the plane that was populated killing every single Kilarri and whatever merchants were there and then moved on. No known Kilarri survived.
After the war, Far Port became a sort of gathering place for the wrecked spheres nearby. Instead of trying to rebuild the plane that was burnt rubble and ash, they decided to build on the opposite side that had previously never been populated. With no race calling Far Port home, it became a sort of gathering place for many beings and races that felt like they had no were else to go. Now days, nearly any type of being from anywhere in the Known Realms can be found on Far Port.
Though the sprawling port city and warehouse districts have grown greatly to cover almost the entire plane, the residences have continued to leave the other side of Far Port alone. Some argue that they will soon run out of space and need to use the other side, but most feel that leaving it as a memorial to the atrocities that happened there would be the right thing to do.
